Abstract：For fixed 𝑐∈ℝ,  𝑙>0 and a general non-symmetric kernel function 𝐽(𝑥) satisfying a standard assumption, we consider the nonlocal diffusion operator

and prove that its principal eigenvalue 𝜆_𝑝 (ℒ_((−𝑙,𝑙))^(𝐽,𝑐)) has the following asymptotic limit:

We then demonstrate how this result can be applied to determine the propagation dynamics of the associated Cauchy problem

with a KPP nonlinear term 𝑓(𝑢). This provides a new approach to understand the propagation dynamics of KPP type models, very different from those based on traveling wave solutions or on the dynamical systems method of Weinberger (1982). This talk is based on joint work with Dr Xiangdong Fang (Dalian Univ Tech) and Dr Wenjie Ni (Univ New England).

报告人简介：杜一宏教授为澳大利亚科国内自拍院士，博士生导师。于1988年在山东大学师从郭大钧教授获得博士学位并留校任教，1990年至1991年赴英国Heriot-Watt大学访问，1991年至1992年到澳大利亚新英格兰大学做博士后，师从国际著名数学家、澳大利亚科国内自拍院士E.N. Dancer教授。1993年至今在新英格兰大学历任讲师、高级讲师、副教授、教授。主要从事非线性泛函分析及其应用、非线性椭圆型和抛物型偏微分方程、自由边界问题及其在生物数学中的应用等领域的研究。已在国际一流数学杂志包括JEMS、ARMA、PLMS、JFA、JMPA、TAMS、AIHP、SIAM、IUMJ、CVPDE、Nonlinearity、JDE等发表学术论文170余篇。已发表论文他引次数超过5000次，多次入选Web of Science高被引学者。出版个人研究专著1部。多次组织国际性学术会议，多次担任国际大会执行和学术委员会委员，多次受邀在国际学术会议做大会报告或者邀请报告。获校长杰出研究奖（Vice-Chancellor's Award for Excellence in Research）。连续多次主持澳大利亚国家研究会（ARC）基金，2024年获澳大利亚桂冠学者奖（Australian Laureate Fellow）。
