Abstract：

In 1980s, Gross and Zagier proved a deep and famous formula relating the arithmetic on an elliptic curve to its analysis (L-function). Along the way, they also discovered a beautiful formula of singular moduli. They also raised an algebraicity conjecture of higher Green function at a CM point. In this talk, we give a new perspective on the analytic side of the story which simplifies the proof of the Gross-Zagier formula. This new perspective also provides a proof of their algebraicity conjecture.
